BlackBerry Playbook Tablet supports Android Gingerbread Apps

Research In Motion (RIM) has gone official and announced that its upcoming BlackBerry Playbook Tablet will have support for Android apps. RIM announced it through a press release saying that its new QNX operating system based BlackBerry Playbook Tablet will have support for both apps, meaning from RIM’s own app store along with those apps which are originally designed for Android.
But don’t think it’s going to be that simple; according to RIM the Android developers who wish to submit their Android apps in the BlackBerry App World, must repackage, code sign and resubmit first. RIM further stated that its BlackBerry Tablet OS Native Development Kit will be in open Beta by this summer for developers and just to clear up the BlackBerry Playbook Tablet will supports Android 2.3 Gingerbread apps not Android 3.0 Honeycomb’s.
Anyhow the BlackBerry Playbook will be released on April 19 in the United States and Canada and will be priced at $499$599 and $699 for the 16GB32GB and 64GB models. So folks if you planning to get yourself a brand new Tablet than BlackBerry Playbook should be on your list because lots and lots of apps are on their way
