AppleInsider has discovered a products to listing on Vodafone UK's website that showed up briefly, which seems to indicate that the iPhone 5 will be available in black and white colors and also come with only 16GB and 32GB storage capacity just like iPhone 4.
Vodafone had briefly listed the four iPhone 5 models as compatible devices for their signal booster product.
AppleInsider reports:
The product page for the Vodafone Sure Signal, which works as a signal booster for the carrier's network, offers a list of phones compatible with the device. The carrier's site makes mention of four "iPhone 5" models, with capacities of 16GB and 32GB and colors of black and white.
it could very well be a typing mistake, but as AppleInsider points out the product page also mentions iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G.Vodafone has quickly removed or corrected the page and it no longer lists iPhone 5 as one of the compatible smartphones for its signal booster product.
Let's hope it was an mistake as we would like to see iPhone 5 come with 32GB and 64GB storage capacities, especially since iPod Touch 4G - launched last year are available with these storage capacities and we've already seen an iPhone 4 prototype with 64GB storage.

Apple has always been adamant and particular about the committed technological improvements in global events. As per their June affair the gadget maker outlined that future iOS updates will be offered over the air and the gadgets need not be tethered with PC. The no PC fundamental will not only kill the market share of Microsoft but will also enable Apple in launching its dedicated solution to its users. The new iPhone 5 is expected to be a “SIM-less” device and will offer users unmatched over the air business agility possibilities. Thenew iPhone will eventually form a new segment between a smart phone and tablet.
There is also a possibility that Apple might launch its own Home network or technology landscape that depicts a network on the go. However, some aspects which are lying in the unclear zones include – Will there be no phone number of iPhone 5 users? Will it all be handled by FaceTime? Will the device completely fail when there is network outage? Or will it connect with alien networks too?
The new iPhone is expected to be a game changer and will offer some of the finest connectivity, unparallel surfing, dual cameras and enhanced user interface options too. Therefore, be sure to put your money on it.
Apple is yet to formalize the demand stream for iPad 2 and the news of iPad 3 is being relished by news makers. If rumors were to be believed then iPad 3 will emerge out to be as the cutting edge tablet in the market. It will have a sleeker design than iPad 2 and will have better content editing features too. The combination of iPad 3 over iOS 5 will indeed be a formidable target for the rest to achieve. The users are already demanding for FaceTime in HD over the new iPad. The tablet device from Apple is being sold at a premium rate and it will be a nice idea if smart covers were made as a part of the deal.
The tablet will be powered on A6 chipset and the usability options will be streamlined to support quick request-response mechanisms. The tablet arena has been redefined to meet the business expectations of the users.
The new device will offer on the air updates of OS and patches to the users. Apple has been working on themethodology of providing updates without PC tethering on the go. Therefore, get going and look to invest in the new device.
Every iPad users have been waiting Facebook to release its native app for iPad. The iPhone Facebook app has been out for quite some time and it even became as the most popular iPhone apps for a time. So, many of us have been asking Facebook about this but unfortunately, the Facebook people kept mum about a possible Facebook app, until now. Everything is about to change as NYT reports that the official Facebook app for iPad will be released in the coming weeks.
Citing reliable sources, the report even went further by stating that the iPad app has been in the works for almost a year now. I can’t help but wonder why it’s taking them too long. But, if these sources are true, the said official Facebook iPad app will be highly optimized for the tablet. Does this mean that the iPad app will be concurrently released together with an app optimized for Android tablets as well?
Additionally, it was also mentioned that the Facebook iPad app is already in the final stages of testing and has been through several design iterations which probably caused the delayed release. Interestingly, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg was said to be pretty much involved in the process of developing the app. By that, it means being involved in the design decisions as well as when it comes to unique features that the app will have.
Here’s more, according to some people who’ve seen the app in action, Facebook for iPad will sport a slick design and was tailored fit for the iPad’s touchscreen interface. One thing is also sure, the app will have Facebook Chat and Facebook groups enabled. In addition, the app will also let you snap photos and capture videos and quickly upload it using the iPad 2′s built-in camera.
Now, those are pretty exciting features indeed. Now Facebook, can you hurry up and release the Facebook iPad app as soon as possible, please?
Apple has just been named as the number one company worldwide, overtaking ExxonMobil. But how does it fare in the laptop market, especially since this product category is supposed to be at its core? According to a new Deutsche Bank report, Apple could very well be ahead of the pack when it comes to notebook sales – if iPad sales are to included.
Analyst Chris Whitmore of DB studied notebook sales in recent years including up to the Q2 2011. He found out that without iPad sales, Apple is the 6th global notebook manufacturer. But once iPad sales is include, Apple propels up to the number spot. But the question is, should the iPad be considered when looking at notebook sales. Or better yet, is the iPad to be considered as a notebook PC? Well, I guess it depends on how you define the product. If you’re looking at the notebook PC as a mobile computing device that you can do some of the basic things such as email, web browsing, word and other document processing, gaming, social networking and more – the iPad can very well pass as a mobile notebook computing device.
Another reason why the iPad should be included as a notebook PC product is the fact that there are several reports indicating that the iPad is eating out sales of the traditional notebook PC. This is prompting decline in the sales of top notebook PC manufacturers including Acer, HP, and Dell.
So, what does Apple need to formalize the iPad’s entry into the notebook PC category then? Unifying perhaps its iOS and Mac OS product software product line? A good possibility, right? After all, the iPad has been a major contributor to Apple’s revenue, something around $6 billion from iPad sales alone is a good mark and should be enough to make Apple think of more innovations that would elevate the iPad’s status as one of the major mobile notebook computing device.
Here’s probably one solid proof discounting the rumors that Apple maybe releasing the iPad 3 later this year. Digitimes, citing reliable sources is reporting that Apple has apparently cancelled its iPad 3 supply schedule for the second half of 2011. According to the report, Apple was supposed to launch its iPad 3 in the second half of 2011 with around 1.5-2 million units to be sold during the 3rd quarter and 5-6 million units in the 4th quarter. Unfortunately, some of Apple’s supply chain partners have discovered that these figures have already been cancelled by Apple.
The report also mentioned that the yield rate of the 9.7-inch panel with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 is one reason why Apple cancelled its supply chain. There has been a shortage of supply of these panels since these are mainly produced by Japan-based company, Sharp. Sharp is charging Apple with a high price for these panels. And since the other suppliers of these panels which include Samsung and LG Display, Apple has no choice but to postpon the production of the iPad 3, hopefully by early next year.
Another issue that came out points to the fact that one of the requirements for the iPad 3 panels which is a high resolution which requires much larger backlight source and a single edge light bar, is not being met by the suppliers. This was said to be conflicting with Apple’s requirements for physical thinnes, rich color support and toughness of its upcoming iPad 3.
What is certain for now is the fact that Apple will maintain the supply of iPad 2 in the second half of this year. Apple is earmarking around 28-30 million units of iPad 2 to be shipped later this year.
So much for the waiting and anticipation, I guess?
SAN FRANCISCO: Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the iPad, a tablet-style computer that resembles the iPhone, but is larger.
“It’s so much more intimate than a laptop and so much more capable than a smart phone,” Mr. Jobs said on Wednesday at the device’s highly anticipated debut in San Francisco.
Mr. Jobs demonstrated how the iPad is used for surfing the Web with Apple’s Safari browser. He typed an e-mail using an on-screen keyboard and flipped through photo albums by flicking his finger across the screen.
The CEO said the iPad will also be better for reading books, playing games and watching videos than either a laptop or a smart phone. Now Apple will have to convince consumers, many of whom already have Internet-connected phones, computers and TVs, that this is the case.
No price or information on availability was immediately announced.
