EhAssan.tk F1: Webber Tops P2 Time Chart In Germany

10:48 AM

Mark Webber remains winless in 2011.

Maybe, just maybe, that's finally about to change.

If Friday's second Formula One practice at the Nurburgring looms large, Webber should at least be in good shape to challenge for victory in Sunday's German GP.

The Red Bull driver led all others in P2, after running second to  the Fernando Alonso in Friday's opening practice around.

Following Webber (1:31:711) in the top five were Ferrari's Alonso (1:31:879) and runaway championship leader Sebastian Vettel (1:32:084).

Ferrari's Felipe Massa and Mercedes' Michael Schumacher filled out the top five in the 90-minute session, which was held under overcast skies but on a dry track.

Sunday's race will mark the 10th round of the 2011 F1 World Championship.

Reigning World Champion Vettel is the favorite to score in his native Germany, having won six of the season's nine races.

The other winners, each with a single victory in 2011, are Alonso (Silverstone), and McLaren teammates Lewis Hamilton (China) and Jenson Button (Canada).

    P3 concludes Friday's on-track activities in Germany.

Action resumes at 5 a.m. ET Saturday with one hour of final practice.

SPEED.com will stream the session live.
