Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Could Be an iPad-Killer end started:
5:43 PMThe second Samsung Galaxy tablet is said to be thinner than the iPad by 0.2 mm, and at 1.3 pounds it’s also slightly lighter than the iPad 2. Unlike its predecessor, the 7-inch Galaxy Tab, the new Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9 will run on Android Honeycomb, the OS specifically designed for tablets and will come with a choice of 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB of internal storage. It will have a fast 1 GHz dual-core application processor, and will also be Wi-Fi enabled with Bluetooth connectivity reports Slashgear. 3G versions will be available later this year.
Many other Galaxy Tab 10.1 specs rival those of the iPad 2. According to a San Jose Mercury News review, the new Galaxy Tab has an impressive battery life, with one charge lasting up to several days of regular usage. Samsung says that in standby mode a charge can last up to 75 days and 10 hours of continuous constant use, just like the iPad 2. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 has better HD screen resolution than the iPad 2, and comes with a 3 megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera for use as a webcam. Both of which have a higher resolution than the iPad 2’s camera and webcam. Unlike the iPad 2, the Galaxy Tab’s rear-facing camera has LED flash which allows users to take pictures and film video in dark places. The pricing of the new Galaxy Tab will also be the same or slightly cheaper than the iPad 2, adds the review.
