4G and 3G bandwidth speed test results on EVO 4G
12:02 PMI went outside at the front entrance of the Morning News' headquarters building in Dallas to test out the 4G speeds on my EVO compared to 3G.
The speeds recorded on the SpeedTest.net app were pretty impressive.
Here are some of the 3G test results:
Test 1
download: 439 kbps
upload: 623 kbps
Test 2
download: 733 kbps
upload: 553 kbps
Test 3
download: 459 kbps
upload: 559 kbps
4G results:
Test 1
download: 4042 kbps
upload: 1040 kbps
Test 2
download: 3063 kbps
upload: 935 kbps
Test 3
download: 4295 kbps
upload: 990 kbps
As you can see, there's a dramatic increase in download and upload speeds, and I was able to watch YouTube videos in high quality with any stuttering or buffering over 4G.
I'll be testing the 4G speeds in other parts of town over the next few days. Sprint's official 4G coverage map is here, and Dallas looks to be pretty well covered. If I do find that 4G speeds are dramatically different in any of the other spots I test, I'll report back here.
In a few minutes, I'll be posting a high definition (720p) video I shot on the EVO.
