Since, Barcelona have been a dominant European force, but before that match they could have been regarded as chronic underachievers. 1992 marks the turning point for the club (in terms of success at the biggest stage, at any rate), and Valdes is apparently wearing 92 on his jersey to commemorate that famous win. Prediction: Manchester United and some neutral fans will claim that this is annoying for absolutely no good reason.
