Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt (CNN)The remains of Russian tourists killed in a passenger jet crash in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula are expected to start arriving back in St. Petersburg on Sunday as questions swirl over what caused the catastrophe.
All 224 people aboard Kogalymavia Flight 9268 died in the crash Saturday morning that left debris strewn across a remote area of a region plagued by a violent Islamic insurgency.
Footage from the scene showed mangled wreckage & piles of property from the plane spilled over a largely flat, barren landscape.

Plenty of of the passengers on the Airbus A321-200 aircraft, which crashed en route from the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh to St. Petersburg, were reported by Russian state media to be returning from holiday. Russian officials said there were 25 kids aboard the plane.
At Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg, where the aircraft was meant to have ended its journey, mourners paid their respects to victims at a makeshift memorial. People brought red or white carnations & stuffed toys for kids. A table held a dozen candles. Relatives who had waited desperately for news of loved ones broke down in tears.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared Sunday a day of mourning.

UPDATE, 9:30 a.m.: Ohio State officially confirmed Barrett's misdemeanor offense for OVI, by an emailed statement from a spokesman. The quarterback's been suspended by head coach Urban Meyer for the Minnesota game next Saturday. Athletic Director Gene Smith tells Eleven Warriors because it is a misdemeanor, Barrett is not subject to the mandatory two-week suspension. Smith said the continued suspension is up to the discretion of Meyer.

According to sources within the Columbus Police Department, Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while weakened (OVI) early Saturday morning near campus.
The quarterback was released to his teammate, fellow quarterback Cardale Jones, who provided Barrett a ride home.
Barrett, twenty, was arrested near High & Tompkins, north of Campus after police noticed the player try to keep away from an OVI checkpoint in the area. Per CPD sources, Barrett was cooperative & blew in to a breathalyzer, registering slightly over Ohio's legal limit of 0.08 blood-alcohol concentration.
Jones had been the starter this season for the No. 1-ranked Buckeyes through the first seven games of the season before Barrett started his first game last Saturday against Rutgers.
Barrett has thrown for 472 yards & seven touchdowns this season while also jogging for 329 yards & seven additional scores. Last season as the full-time starter, Barrett broke the Giant0 record with 45 total touchdowns & done fifth in the voting for the Heisman Trophy.
Ohio State did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
The Buckeyes are on a bye this weekend before hosting Minnesota 8 p.m. on Nov. 7.
